How a water job goes

From the water line up.

Scroll through one room, start to finish. Every photo is from one of our own jobs.

Drawing of a wall, floor and crawlspace going from flooded to dry to rebuilt A section view of one room. Water covers the floor and wicks up the drywall, then the water is pulled out, the wet drywall is cut out, air movers and a dehumidifier dry the framing until it reads dry, and new drywall, paint and flooring go back in. ROOM SECTION FLOOD CUT CRAWLSPACE AIR MOVER + DEHU DRY DONE
  1. STEP 01

    Water in

A pipe lets go, a water heater fails or the rain finds a way in.

Water spreads across the floor, wicks up the drywall and drops into the crawlspace.

Standing water in a crawlspace under the ductwork and pipes
  2. STEP 02

    Water out

We pull the standing water and the soaked carpet and pad.

Anything we can save gets moved out of the way first.

Wet hardwood flooring torn out down to the subfloor in a doorway
  3. STEP 03

    Open the wall

Wet drywall gets cut out above the water line, and the baseboards come off.

Now the wall cavity can breathe instead of rotting behind paint.

Flood cut along the wall, studs open, dehumidifier and air movers on the subfloor
  4. STEP 04

    Dry it out

Air movers push air across the wet framing and subfloor.

Dehumidifiers pull that water out of the air, day and night.

Air movers and a dehumidifier drying a subfloor, drywall cut out along the walls
  5. STEP 05

    Reads dry

Hardwood can be dried in place under floor-drying mats.

The gear stays until the wood and the framing read dry. Then it goes.

Black floor-drying mats pulling water out of a hardwood living room floor
  6. STEP 06

    Put it back

New drywall, mud, paint, trim and flooring.

You get back a finished room, not a gutted one.

Open living area with refinished hardwood floors
  7. Water from a storm, a supply line or a backed-up drain all start the same way. Call (256) 624-8206 and we start at step one.

I woke up one morning to water pouring into my basement. Josh and his team were there within minutes and began the tear out. Felt like it took them all of 5 minutes to tear out 3 bathrooms and and entire basement floor to ceiling. Fast efficient and extremely professional. Josh answered any and every question I had with kindness and a lot of patience. I pray this doesn’t happen again but if it does, I will always call Josh at Alabama Quality Restoration. I highly recommend him over and over again.

Had two major home repairs this week back to back. In a panic, I was able to call both times and got help right away. Josh came out and fixed both my issues quick and efficiently. Definitely takes pride in his work and does an amazing job. I went from my whole basement flooded, to everything back dry and repaired very quickly. Highly recommended using! A huge life saver to me!

We were having trouble with our shower and what a great job they did with fixing the tile and baseboards.... fixing the damage and sealing to keep water from leaking behind the wall. Great quality work and very professional!

We had Josh fix some paneling that had water and mold damage to it and he went above and beyond expectations. He was very communicative the whole time and showed up every single day on time. He dry walled two of our walls and painted them and they turned out stunning!! He worked hard every day and you can tell in the finished product. I will be recommending him to everyone I know! 5/5 ⭐️
